Dumfries and Galloway is a spectacular cycling region, acclaimed in The Times and in 2015 by a cycling journalist – ‘one of the most enjoyable trips I’ve ever done, anywhere in the world’.
Dumfries and Galloway has plenty of fantastic routes to try, from short journeys to longer routes into the beautiful countryside and rolling hills. Our towns are ideally sized for cycling with key locations only a bike ride away. You can also take part in numerous social rides throughout the region.
Over 200 miles of coastline and 450 miles of signposted cycling routes

World-class mountain biking on our doorstep. Award winning trails attract visitors from the UK and around the World to Dumfries and Galloway. There are centres at Kirroughtree, Forest of Ae, Mabie, Dalbeattie, Glentrool, all in Dumfries and Galloway, and further centres at Glentress, and Newcastleton . All routes are graded according to ability
For those cyclists that are looking for an exhilarating experience, then Dumfries and Galloway is the place to be!! We have miles and miles of off road, and forest tracks to test your skills and abilities. If you are looking for a guided ride, or have never been off road before, contact Galloway Activity Centre, they have instructors there too!!
