We moved from a village near York to S.W. Scotland in 2006 because we fell in love with the area, the land and Lochenbreck Loch. The Farmhouse was in a bad state of repair and the outbuildings were even worse. We started the process of a major renovation later that year and our first task was to renovate the Byre and turn it into a home that we could live in while the Farmhouse was renovated. We moved into the Byre in 2008 and lived their until the Farmhouse was ready in December 2009.
The Byre was furnished to a high standard and it was designed to be suitable for a holiday let when we left. Consequently a disabled access was included along with a wet room and we took our first bookings in the spring of 2010. Since 2009 we have been concentrating on the 63 acres of land.High Lochenbreck is situated in Laurieston Forest, 3 miles west of Laurieston on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park.
There is a wide range of activities in the area and a good starting point is to have a look at the Visit Scotland web site.If you are looking for peace and quiet then that is something we can guarantee, no rush hour, no pollution and although we live in the Farmhouse close to the Byre, hopefully that is an advantage as we are available, on site, to assist in anyway we can.
