As a former Coaching Inn recognised by Visit Scotland (and which recently welcomed H.R.H. The Duke of Rothesay), The Kings Arms has been offering food and refreshments to guests for over 200 years.
Our rooms are attractively furnished, en suite with colour TV, Tea and Coffee makers.
The hotel is the perfect base for all visitors whether it be - golfers, walkers , motor bikers, mountain bikers & cyclists, or to just relax and enjoy the unspoilt beauty of Dumfries and Galloway.
The Kings Arms has a total of 10 Bedrooms - a mixture of Double & Twins and 2 Single rooms. One of the doubles has Bunk Beds - so ideal for a family. We have also more recently made a a self contained apartment. This annexe has 2 x Twin Rooms, Kitchen and utility room which is kitted out with all the appliances including a washing machine, bathroom with separate Shower & Bath and a Sitting Room with a Plasma Freeview.
In Total we can comfortably sleep 22 as we often do for some of our larger golf groups.

Dining at The Kings
The Kings Arms is host to the Traditional Burns Supper. Castle Douglas Burns Club with Chairman Mr Graham Bell always has their event the nearest Friday to 25th January. The Stewartry Young Farmers with their budding new speakers is always a popular event. Also The Rotary Club always have their Supper on their Thursday night slot. A large number of Clubs and Societies use the Kings Arms for their Meetings - generally accommodated in the Resident's Lounge. From Book clubs to Scrabble Clubs, Cancer Research to Solway Car Club to name but a few. All are welcome.

Dog Carts & Gigs with Good Horses and Careful Drivers. It even had a Mourning Department with Elegant Hearse and Mourning Coaches ; an interesting History we are sure ! An old Posting Bag still adorns the Hotel Bar.
